Alvaro Morata is “very happy” to be joining Juventus as the Arsenal target nears a move to Turin.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with a swoop for the 21-year-old Spaniard in the past few months after the north London club was touted as a destination for the striker in the January transfer window.
However, Juventus appear to have beaten Arsenal and Inter Milan to the Spain Under-21 international’s signature as the Serie A champions finalise a reported €22m (£17.5m) deal for the Madrid youngster.
“I am very happy, for me it’s about having a personal challenge,” Morata has been quoted as saying by Spanish outlet Marca on Wednesday morning.
The Real Madrid striker scored eight goals in 23 appearances, although 20 of those were from the bench.
