Arsenal And Manchester United Chase ‘New Xavi’

Arsenal and Manchester United are set to battle it out for Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, who has been dubbed the ‘new Xavi’ by supporters in Spain.

The 22-year-old has also attracted attention from Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur, both of whom are still monitoring his situation.

And according to the Express, the midfielder is unsettled at the Nou Camp and has grown frustrated at the lack of playing time he’s been getting.

Manchester United are still looking for a top-class midfielder to help get them back amongst the top four next term, whilst Arsenal are also looking to add to their squad as Mikel Arteta edges towards the end of his career.

Barcelona won’t want to lost the young talent though, with players in their own squad beginning to age.

And after selling Fabregas, Luis Enrique may well be able to off Roberto more opportunities when the new season comes around.
