Porto striker Jackson Martinez has admitted that he grew up as an Arsenal fan and would love to move to the north London club.
Martinez is currently on holiday after his World Cup excursions with Colombia, where he impressed, and a summer move has been heavily tipped.
The prolific forward has scored a stunning 60 goals in 91 games for Porto since his arrival back in 2012, which has made him one of the most sought after strikers in Europe.
Chelsea and Liverpool are both keen on Martinez too but it seems Arsenal is the place he wants to be next season.
“I cheered for Arsenal when I was a kid – I love their style of play.
“It’s flowing and open with a lot of first touch passes. It would be suitable for a player like me.
“If I get a chance to play for a high level club like Arsenal I wouldn’t hesitate to accept it.”
Arsene Wenger played down reports that he is desperate to sign a striker this summer but these latest comments will be music to his ears after last season’s struggles up front.
