Arsenal have allegedly held talks with QPR over signing Loic Remy for £8m.
With Alexis Sanchez and Mathieu Debuchy already said to be Arsenal-bound it is believed that Arsene Wenger has turned his attentions to the French striker who spent last season on loan with Newcastle. The move would, of course, make sense, given that Arsenal shipped out two [albeit rarely used] strikers in Park and Bendtner this summer.
Remy has an £8m release clause in his contract.
Should Arsenal seal all three of these transfers it would more than likely not be an end to their spending as they still need to secure at least one goalkeeper and are said to be in the market for a defensive midfielder as well. We would suggest that a centreback might also be an option given that we only have three of those at the club and one of them could very well leave before the window closes as he isn’t happy with not being a regular. When Arsenal first moved to the Emirates
I was told that there would be a period of around 10 years were they would be required to tighten their belt and would not really be able to compete in the transfer window. I didn’t believe it at the time but given how things have panned out over the past decade it’s hard to see that information being anything other than right on the money.
