Arsenal hope to announce Debuchy deal on Monday

Arsenal are expected to officially announce the signing of Mathieu Debuchy tomorrow – almost a week after the transfer was completed.

A fee in the region of £10m, plus bonuses depending on appearances, has been agreed and the 28-year-old right-back will be presented by the club tomorrow afternoon.
The transfer has been agreed in principle for almost a week while Newcastle’s attempts to bring in Daryl Janmaat as a direct replacement hit a snag.

However, all the paperwork has now been signed off and France international Debuchy will wear the no.2 shirt for Arsene Wenger’s side next season.
Debuchy has previously admitted he is keen to play Champions League football and Arsenal’s offer of regular first team football at the highest level was too good to turn down for the experienced 28-year-old.

Former Lille defender Debuchy joined Newcastle in January 2013 from the Ligue 1 side and quickly became a fans’ favourite at St James’s Park.
Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to pursue the loan signing of Atletico Madrid defender Javier Manquillo despite the La Liga side’s refusal to let the youngster leave.

Gunners boss Wenger is keen on bringing in another defender to rival Debuchy at right-back spot with Carl Jenkinson expected to be sent out on loan.
