Arsenal line up shock move for Manchester United Ace

Arsenal are keen to sign Manchester United winger Nani and hope to secure the Portuguese winger's services for £9 million this summer. However, the Red Devils will demand at least €14 million (just over £11 million) from the Gunners.

This is according to respected Portuguese newspaper A Bola, who report that Nani does not feature in Louis van Gaal's plans. The new United boss, who began his tenure with an emphatic 7-0 demolition of LA Galaxy on Wednesday night, continues to shape his squad ahead of the 2014/15 campaign.

Nani: A man in demand

Arsenal, however, will face stiff competition for the 27-year-old's services. Nani has been linked with a move to Serie A for several months now; Juventus and AC Milan are reportedly determined to seal a deal for the tricky winger.
A move to Juventus, in particular, may appeal to Nani. The Italian giants won their third consecutive Serie A title last season, while former teammates Carlos Tevez and Patrice Evra also ply their trade with the Turin-based outfit.

Nani in desperate need of a fresh start

It seems that, in order to resurrect his career, Nani will need to leave Old Trafford this summer. The Portuguese ace has made a combined 22 Premier League appearances over the past two seasons - due to a succession of injuries combined with a loss of form - and is not expected to re-establish himself as a first-team regular under Van Gaal.
Back in February, United midfielder Anderson revealed that Nani was one of several stars at Old Trafford who were determined to leave the club.
Originally brought to Old Trafford in 2007 from Sporting Lisbon by Sir Alex Ferguson, Nani has struggled - barring the odd moments of magic - to fulfil his immense potential over the past seven seasons.

This is a player with a point to prove - and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is, according to these latest reports, prepared to take a gamble
