Arsenal Target Transfer Listed

Arsenal have been boosted in their chase to sign Matija Nastasic after Manchester City decided to transfer list the defender.

Arsene Wenger is looking for a new centre-back with Thomas Vermaelen expected to leave the club and has had his eye on the 21-year-old as a replacement.

And the Metro reports City will sell to the club who offers the highest bid, although they are open to a loan deal as well.

Nastasic has shown promise in his two years at the Etihad Stadium but has often struggled with injuries, which limited his outings in the Premier League to 13 last season.

Arsenal could take a gamble on the Serbian, who they have been tracking since he was just 16-years-old at FK Partizan.

However, they will face competition to secure his signature, as Italian giants Juventus and Galatasaray are also interested, as well as Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray.

With Vermaelen likely to leave, Arsenal only have first-choice centre-backs Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny on their squad list for next season, although new signing Calum Chambers look accomplished while filling in at the Emirates Stadium.
