Why Arsenal should sign this £3m bargain World Cup star

Whilst it’s not the most trendy of positions, The Gunners are likely to be on a hunt for a brand new back-up keeper this summer.
There’s no doubt that Wojciech Szczesny has done a good job over the last 12 months. He’s developed well, overcome his mentality issues and he’s now easily among the Premier League’s best shot-stoppers.
There’s every reason to believe that he’s going to be ’s number one for many years to come. What’s more, if that were to be the case, I’m sure that few fans would complain.
That being said, Szczesny will need proper competition if he’s to continue to trot out top-drawer performances. He’ll need to feel that if he slips up, there’s somebody waiting in the wings to take his place in the first team.
Now that Arsenal’s FA Cup winning goalkeeper,  has moved to Swansea City, there’s no real competition to Szczesny’s throne. I’m sure that this is something that  will look to redress whilst the transfer window remains open.
This brings me to The Mirror‘s claim that Arsenal are currently in the market for Colombian goalkeeper,.
The 25-year-old had a fine World Cup, helping to guide his side to the latter stages of the competition thanks to a number of excellent performances. He’s got great reflexes, he’s sprightly and he’s also a good shot-stopper.
As a back-up option, I’m not sure there are many better options out there. With the aforementioned source suggesting that his club, , could be willing to sell for as little as £3m, this looks like a bit of a no brainer for The Gunners. He won’t break the bank, but he would provide an excellent option.
After his World Cup heroics, I’m not sure that he’ll be content coming to The Emirates and sitting on the bench. I’m sure that he’d want to push Wojciech Szczesny all the way. That can only be a good thing for The Gunners.
What’s your take? Is David Ospina a good choice for The Gunners? Who else should they consider?
